-Gets State APC chair commendations

The people of Ikorodu have declared for the re – election bid of President Bola Tinubu in 2027 collectively, stating that he has performed and deserved to be returned for another four years after the completion of his first term.
The political class led by the chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), traditional institutions, religious bodies, Community Development Associations (CDAs), students, market men and women, youth, artisans, ethnic nationalities and others across the Ikorodu Local Government, and five Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), gathered in their thousands at Ikorodu Town Hall, Ikorodu, on Monday, to collectively and unanimously made the declaration.
The rally is themed, “Ikorodu Division Unites for 2027 Rally”
Ikorodu, as a Division and a Local Government with the rally and declaration became the first in the country to organise a rally to declare for the re – election of President Bola Tinubu.

Speaker after speaker, cited the political reforms, infrastructural development, educational support, steps towards food security, financial reforms, and economic turnaround among many others to declare their support.
State APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelade, who said that he was attending the rally in his personal capacity to witness, commended Ikorodu Division for being first to come together to appreciate Mr President’s impacts and for leading other 19 council areas in Lagos State in the just concluded APC e – registration exercise.
“The message that Ikorodu Division is passing today is that Ikorodu Division unites for 2027, without any colouration of APC. This is a body; a division (in Lagos State) united for 2027.
“Thank you for coming together to showcase your strength and tell the world that you are ready for the battle ahead. I thank the organisers of this event for their thoughtfulness and appreciation of the good programmes of Tinubu’s administration.

“I am particularly happy that Ikorodu people are the first to show a true understanding of the relevance and the appropriateness of the Renewed Hope Agenda to our lives. Of course, I am not surprised because people of Ikorodu are Ogas.
“Let me thank you for your performance in the just concluded first phase of our e-membership registration exercise, you worked hard and came first beating 19 other local governments. I advise you that you should not rest on your oars so that this can translate to votes in next year’s elections.”
The APC Chairman, emphasised, “This administration deserves kudos for the bold and relevant steps that it has taken to make our country better. In just three years, the government has touched our lives in the areas of economy, health, education, food production, infrastructural development and social welfare services.”

Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, former State Deputy Governor and chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), who spoke on behalf of the political leadership and the entire Ikorodu people said that President Tinubu has the ability and capacity to administer Nigeria and he deserves the second term.
He moved for the adoption of President Tinubu for re -election and he was ably supported by Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Bashorun, former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and also a chieftain of the GAC.
The Senator representing Lagos East, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru, in his own remarks, stressed the firm resolve of the people of Ikorodu Division, Lagos East Senatorial District and Lagos State to stand with the President who has provided good leadership for Nigeria in difficult period.

He listed key interventions of the President that are positively touching many citizens – improved federal allocations to states, stabilising food prices, student loans through NELFUND, affordable consumer credit via CrediCorp, and massive investments in digital and physical infrastructure. He added that these initiatives are designed to ease household pressures, empower small businesses and create opportunities for our youths.
Rep. Babajimi Benson, representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, thanked Ikorodu residents for their massive registration for the APC that made Ikorodu emerge as the council area with largest APC members.
Also supporting Tinubu’s re -election, he cited the introduction of NELFUND which he said has impacted on students and a way of making many that were from lesser privileged background to be somebody in Nigeria.

The third term lawmaker who said that President Tinubu has the mental magnitude to rule the country also pointed at his administration’s impacts in the areas of road infrastructure, local government reform, international rating and how he has been using his representation to bring projects to Ikorodu.
Chairman, Nigerian Diasporas Commission, Hon. (Dr.) Abike Dabiri -Erewa, who represented the Ikorodu Federal Constituency for three terms, who also mounted the stage, emphasised the positive reforms of Mr President and called for his re – election.
She assured people of massive positive reforms and development in the next four years.
Hon. (Dr.) Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA) representative of Ikorodu Constituency II, described Tinubu as a purposeful and compassionate leader who has renewed Nigerians and Nigeria’s hopes in the last three years. His Ikorodu Constituency I counterpart, Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye said that President Tinubu’s administration has invested heavily in human capital development, support for students, turned around the financial sector, reformed and started rebuilding Nigeria.

Representative of the six council chairmen in Ikorodu, Hon. Adedayo Ladega, Chairman, Ikorodu LG, in his own remarks also commended residents of Ikorodu for showing leadership in the just concluded e – registration exercise of the APC and urged that the massive turnout should translate into votes for Tinubu come 2027
Comrade Olatayo Bodunrin Ogunbowale, President, National Association of Ikorodu Division Students (NAIDS), speaking on behalf of the entire students in Ikorodu, said that Tinubu’s administration has impacted on students greatly through NELFUND and other interventions.
The students’ leader who also said that the administration has invested heavily in educational infrastructural development, added that students are supporting Tinubu re-election on this basis.

State Vice Chairman, NYCN, Comrade Abubakri Asoro, who spoke on behalf of youths in Ikorodu said that that the Tinubu administration has been empowering and supporting youth growth and developments.
APC chieftain, Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya, chieftain of the Sensitisation and Mobilisation Rally for the Return of President Bola Tinubu, Dr. Titilola Onafowokan, Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Lagos State, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, Special Adviser on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Agbaje, and the Odofin of Igbogbo, Odofin Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, also spoke at the rally.
